TAYLOR, Jane (nee Wozny)

Jane Taylor peacefully passed from this world following a brief illness at Pembroke Regional Hospital on Wednesday, September 6, 2023. Jane was a loving, caring, giving, and sharing matriarch.

Jane was born in Horodnyca, Ukraine and immigrated to Canada via Ellis Island on the ship “Batory”. The family made Oshawa their home.  Jane was a loving and much cherished wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and sister. Jane was a caring and skilled Registered Nurse taking distinct pride in being an alumna of the Oshawa General Hospital nursing program. Jane was a world citizen and traveler who enjoyed experiencing other cultures with her husband Bob; her family were the benefactors of her worldly and creative culinary skills. Her love of gardening and willingness to share her experience and Master Gardener skills fostered generations of plant lovers.

Predeceased by her loving and devoted husband and fellow adventurer Robert “Bob” George Taylor (d. July 12, 2018) of Huntsville. Predeceased by her mother Justyna Wozny (nee Muzyka), father Marjan Wozny and older sister Olga Burnat (husband Volodymyr/Walter).

Jane’s memory is cherished by her children Rob (Shannon) Taylor, Nadine (Brett) Pickering, and Matt (Lori) Taylor; grand-children Nora, Dylan, Jackson, Sky, Jazz, River, and Chloe; loving brother Monu (Karen); nieces and nephews; and great-nieces and great-nephews.

Visitation of friends and family will be held at Mitchell Funeral Home, 15 High St., Huntsville ON, Monday, September 11, 2023 between 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Funeral service will be held at Saint Mary of the Assumption Parish, 12 Centre St., Huntsville ON, Tuesday, September 12, 2023 at 1:00 p.m.

Following the funeral service Jane will be interred beside her lifelong companion and loving partner Bob at Hutcheson Memorial Cemetery, Huntsville, Ontario.

In lieu of flowers, donations made to the Arthritis Society Canada, Canadian National Institute for the Blind or the Huntsville Horticultural Society would be appreciated.
