Our Facility

At Mitchell Funeral Home, our facility has been thoughtfully designed to reflect both our commitment to families and the character of the Muskoka community we are proud to serve. As a family-owned and operated funeral home, we understand the importance of creating a space that feels warm, welcoming, and supportive during life’s most difficult moments. Our building is arranged to allow a natural, comfortable flow for full service, with each space representing a gentle transition. All of our spaces are on one level, allowing for a smooth, accessible transition throughout the facility. We offer convenient on-site parking at the rear of the building, and our funeral home is fully accessible, including a platform lift to the main level. From one room to the next, families can move with ease while remaining together, supported, and at peace.

Vistiation Room

Our visitation room is designed to feel much like a living room—comfortable and inviting—where family and friends can gather, share stories, and support one another in a familiar and relaxed setting.

Chapel

We also offer a dedicated chapel within our facility. Featuring wooden pews and floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking a peaceful Muskoka landscape, the chapel provides a quiet and reflective space for services. The natural light and surrounding views help create a calm and meaningful atmosphere for honouring a loved one.

Reception Room

Following the service, families are invited to gather in our reception room, a space designed for continued connection and remembrance. Here, stories are shared, memories are honoured, and time can be spent together in a more informal setting. The reception area also includes a private family washroom for added comfort.

Children’s Area

We also recognize that services often bring together guests of all ages. To help support families, we have created a dedicated children’s area with activities and streaming services, providing a comfortable space for younger family members.

“As a family serving families, our goal is to provide not only professional care but a space that feels personal, familiar, and reflective of the community we call home. In Muskoka, where connection and tradition matter, we are honoured to provide a place where families can come together, support one another, and celebrate a life.” - Larry Mitchell
