Service Options
Burial or Cremation
At Mitchell Funeral Home, we understand that every life is unique, and every family has different wishes when it comes to honouring a loved one. We offer a range of service options to help you create something meaningful, whether you are considering burial or cremation.
Both burial and cremation can include a variety of service choices, and there is no “one size fits all” approach. Our role is to listen, guide, and support you in creating a service that reflects your loved one’s life, your family’s traditions, and your personal preferences.
Full Service (Traditional)
A traditional full-service typically includes a visitation (often held the day prior), followed by a funeral service in our chapel, a church, or another meaningful venue within the community.
This type of service is usually followed by interment at a cemetery or cremation and may also include a reception where family and friends can gather and share memories.
Limited Service
This option combines visitation and the funeral service on the same day. Families and friends gather for a period of visitation, followed by a ceremony held in our chapel, a church, or another chosen venue.
This is a meaningful option for those who prefer a more streamlined schedule while still allowing time for both visitation and a formal service.
Memorial Service
A memorial service may be held at our facility or an off-site location, without your loved one physically present. This type of service offers flexibility and can take place at a time that is most convenient for family and friends. In many cases, families choose to have cremated remains (ashes) present at the service, while others may prefer to display a photograph or personal memorabilia that reflects the life and interests of their loved one.
This option typically includes up to one hour of visitation prior to the service, allowing family and friends time to gather before the ceremony begins.
Graveside Service
A graveside service takes place at a local cemetery and includes a brief ceremony at the place of interment. This option typically allows for up to one hour and does not include a visitation beforehand.
Celebration of Life/Reception
A celebration of life or reception is a more informal gathering held in our reception area or another chosen location. This option allows family and friends to come together for up to two hours to share stories, reflect, and honour a life in a more casual setting.
