Stanley Thomas Cartwright

The family is sad to announce Stanley Cartwright's passing at the age of 87 on November 21st, 2022, at the Huntsville District Memorial Hospital. His wife and loving family surrounded him during his final moments. He was born in Blenheim, Ontario, to his parents Harry and Thelma Cartwright. Youngest Brother to his siblings Lyle, Dorothy (predeceased), June, John, and Maxine. He was a beloved husband to his wife Virginia and his late wife Sara, who predeceased him in 1995. He is survived by his two sons Scott (Linda) and Brad (Sandra). And a loving grandfather to Michael (Brooke), Rachel, Matthew (Brittney), Andrea, and Hanna. Stanley leaves behind his many nieces, nephews, and friends who have made unforgettable memories with him.

Before retirement, Stan was a body shop manager for many years. After retirement, he spent his time traveling in his RV. He always would say he was so blessed to be able to see much of Canada, from Eastern shores of Newfoundland to the Western shores of Vancouver. Another one of his great passions was golf. Every day all summer long, he was out on the course. Not only was the game so enjoyable for him, but the friends he had on the course made it so special for him.

We want to thank Dr. Allison Small, Dr. Deb Harrold, nurses, and staff at Huntsville District Memorial Hospital and the Palliative Care team for all their kindness and compassion during the last few months.

Family and friends are invited to Stanley's Celebration of Life, which will be held at the Huntsville Royal Canadian Legion, 21 Veteran’s Way on Saturday, December 3rd, 2022, from 1-3 pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Algonquin Grace Hospice, Huntsville, would be appreciated.
