Robert "Bob" Irwin Ormiston

Robert Irwin Ormiston Peacefully on March 2, 2022 at Algonquin Grace Hospice, Huntsville in his 102nd year, Robert entered into the presence of his Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. Beloved husband of Audrey who predeceased him in 2011 after 66 years of marriage. Loved father of Marilyn (Lance), Murray (Barbara) and Mark (Cathie). Loving Grandpa to 6 grandchildren: David (Tricia), Darren (Danielle), Sharon, Andrew (Heather), Jennifer (Kenneth) and Amanda (Jon), 16 great-grandchildren: Zachary, Cara, Michael, Kai, Levi, Baylee, Toby, Teagen, Paige, Eden, Liam, Ephram, Colton, Josiah, Ciara, and Luna, and 1 great-greatgrandchild: Everett. At an early age, Robert made the decision to believe in and follow Jesus. His commitment to follow Jesus permeated his whole life - in his marriage and family, as a soldier in WW2 (as both part of the dental corps and army), as a businessman serving with Imperial Oil/Esso in both furnace oil distribution in west Toronto and a service station in St. Thomas, and as a faithful lay leader in several churches. Robert and Audrey began a Sunday afternoon Sunday School at their home in Weston in 1947. That ministry grew to become Northminster Baptist Church on Finch Avenue in Toronto. Robert and Audrey were also instrumental as lay leaders in the beginning of Eastwood Baptist Church in St. Thomas. Since moving to Huntsville six and a half years ago, he became a member of Riverside Baptist Church. He never waived from his faith and leaves behind a legacy of strong spiritual character. Visitation for family and friends will be held at the Riverside Baptist Church, 11 Riverside Drive, Huntsville on Thursday, March 24 beginning at 1:00 p.m. with the memorial service to follow at 2:00 p.m. Interment will be in the Forest Lawn Cemetery in London on Monday, March 28 at 1 p.m..
