Phillip Arthur Poyntz
"A great storyteller...Always had a twinkle in his eyes...Growing up with him was a great adventure....He was a gentle, kind, storytelling soul of a man...a great neighbor and friend. He was a fearless traveler an adventurer and explorer who made friends everywhere he went"
Gently and courageously at 92 years of age after a life well lived with many epic adventures Phillip Arthur Poyntz took his final voyage to reunite with loved ones on the other side.
Phil grew up in Orangeville with his siblings Joanne, Marnie, Jeannie and Robert and alongside his cousins and friends in a neighborhood where everyone helped everyone. He grew up and married Joan Childs and they enjoyed 55 years together and travelled the world when they retired. Phil later married Gina Baum and they shared a love of hospitality and travel enjoying each other’s companionship until her passing.
Phil's career was spent with the Ford Motor Company on Oakville Ontario. He was also a proud member of the Yellowjackets Motorcycle Club, Georgetown Branch and enjoyed attending their annual reunions to share stories and reminisce. He was also a past member of the Dorset Lions Club. He was a nature lover and had a special connection with animals. Many years were spent with family on Kawagama Lake enjoying nature before moving into the village of Dorset.
Phil is survived by a loving circle of family and friends including his siblings, cousins, and children Guy, Cindy (Dave), Kim (Ken), Larry (Linda) and Karen as well as step-son Mike Baum and his daughter Sabrina, his grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, friends and neighbours.
