Amy Josephine (Robinson) Spiers
It is with love and gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the peaceful passing of Amy Josephine Spiers (née Robinson) on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at Muskoka Shores in Gravenhurst, in her 97th year.
Amy was the beloved wife of Grenville Ray Spiers, who predeceased her in 1995. She was the proud mother to Donna Copeland (predeceased 2023) (Don), Carolyn Clark (Bob), Douglas Spiers (Heather), June Dickson, and Cathy Edwards (Billy Stenton).

She was a loving grandmother to Chris Spiers (Shelley), Jeff Spiers (Heather), Amanda Jones(Kurtis ), Jen Clark (Tim Bastedo), and Jon Clark (Fran). Amy’s legacy continues through her great-grandchildren: Victoria Spiers (Evan), Austin Spiers (Maddie), Tristan Spiers, Braiden Jones (Christie), Leland Bastedo, Ruby Bastedo, and Griffin Clark.

Amy was born on November 20, 1928, in Ravenscliffe, Ontario, to Christopher and Grace Robinson (née Tipper). She was the last surviving of seven children: Miriam, Florence, Olive, Dennis, Duncan, and Barbara all passed away before her.

After moving to Huntsville to attend high school, Amy stayed to build a life and raise her family. She found great joy in her home, dedicating herself to being a caring and hard-working wife and mother. She loved reading, listening to country music, and keeping a protective eye over her garden flowers. Her family will always remember the hours she spent Christmas baking and the thoughtful care packages that found their way to each of us over the years. We will all miss her wiry, strong hugs and the twinkle in her eye. She will be remembered by many nieces and nephews and former friends and neighbours.

A service to celebrate Amy’s life will be held at Mitchell Funeral Home, 15 High Street, Huntsville, ON, on Friday, May 2, 2025, at 1:00 p.m., with visitation beginning at 12:00 p.m. A reception will follow at the Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Amy’s memory may be made to the Huntsville Hospital Foundation or a charity of your choice.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to the staff at Country Moments and Muskoka Shores for the kindness and care they provided to Mom in her later years.
