William (“Bill”) Charles Core

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of William (“Bill”) Charles Core on January 16, 2026, just shy of his 90th year.

Bill was the beloved husband of Lorna, with whom he shared 68 years of marriage, and a devoted

father to Rhonda (George), Ken (Janet), (predeceased by daughter) Cheryl (Paul), and Karen (Dave). He was a proud grandfather to Jessica, Kristina, Erika, Bradley, Justin, Lindsay, Chad, Alana, Julia, Aimee, and Tyler, and a devoted great-grandfather to Grace and Maya, who brought him endless joy. He was loving uncle, and a loyal friend to many.

Bill was predeceased by his sister Francis Arscott and his parents Carman and Maisie Core and survived by his brother Carman (Lynn) Core.

Bill dedicated much of his life to serving his community. He served with pride as Fire Chief in Brampton and later as a respected member of council and Mayor of Perry Township. His leadership reflected integrity, humility, and a genuine commitment to others. Beyond public service, Bill generously shared his skills and time, spending countless hours building, renovating, and repairing homes and cottages for family and friends.

He found great joy in time spent with loved ones, curling, snowmobiling, boating, gatherings on Clear Lake, and enjoying the warmth of April in Florida. These moments of laughter, stories, and connection were among his greatest treasures.

More than any title or achievement, Bill will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, and quiet strength. He was someone who showed up without being asked, helped without hesitation, and gave without expecting anything in return.

The family is deeply grateful for the nearly 90 years they were blessed to share with him and will carry his love, example, and legacy forward always.

A Celebration of Bill’s life will be held at

the Emsdale Community Centre, 32 Joseph Street, Emsdale on

Saturday, May 9th, 2026 from 1 -4 pm.

Remembrances will be shared at 2:30,

with the Firefighters Honour guard of Brampton present

In lieu of flowers a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society or Alzheimer Society can be made in his honour.

Forever loved. Forever missed.
