Ed was a lifelong hard worker. He started providing for his family of 4 soon to be 5 in Minto New Brunswick running the Dragline in the Minto Coal Mines. When he moved his family to Ontario in 1965 he began and full filled a career as a crane operator with momentous moments such as lifts with the base and installation of the CN Tower in 1973 and an overseas job to the middle east Kuwait Saudi Arabia for 31 days where he hoisted a lift of a 900-ton reactor into place.
Early retirement came in 1985 when he and his wife Kay made a move to Huntsville Ont to live on the lake.  There he continued to operate a crane helping his brother Perley’s business.

Living on the lake provided much snowmobiling, ice-fishing, waterskiing, fishing, boating, hunting, scrabble games, Mexican train , crokinole, puzzles, garage parties, camp fires and lots of family time with tractor and trailer rides for the grandkids and keeping his yard and garage meticulous just the way he liked it.

But nothing ever topped his truest passion and that was of the guitar. His life has been 100% circled around playing, singing and treating the many calluses on his fingers which it caused. You could always find him with guitar in hand.

Lake life also created many sustaining friendships that Ed and his wife Kay continued to enjoy even after they made a move into town until Kays recent passing in 2022. While living there , they together played and sang with Young at Heart for many years.

Spring 2022 became a necessary move for Ed and he was fortunate enough to access a room at Chartwell Muskoka Traditions.  There he spent just over 3 years making new and meaningful friendships while enjoying music, puzzles and faithfully watching the  Toronto Blue Jays and  the Toronto Maple Leaf games until his passing.

Ed will be remembered by all who love him with his voice and guitar , his witty humour with his story telling ( often made up) and his uncontrollable tears of laughter , laughing at his own stories most of the time.

A private family burial will occur for the cremations of Ed and his wife Kathleen in Minto New Brunswick at The Full Gospel Pentecostal Cemetery. Please revisit this site as details are confirmed and posted.
