Patricia “Pat” Victoria Boon *UPDATE*
After a life well lived, Pat Boon passed away quietly, surrounded by family, on a beautiful day at her beloved home on Otter Lake in Huntsville.
Family was the most important thing in the world to Pat. She and her husband Craig were together for close to 55 years and married for 52, and Pat was very proud of her sons Chris (Stacey) and Darren (Angelica) and all her grandchildren. Pat also leaves behind her sister June Marchant, sister-cousin Jan Aylsworth, and her extended Blair and Boon families. She was predeceased by her brother, Robert Hill.
Pat spent her entire career as an elementary school teacher in the Huntsville area and touched many, many lives during that time. She loved Muskoka’s natural environment and actively tried to protect it through involvement with groups like the Otter Lake Association and donations to environmental organizations. She was also keenly aware of the political landscape and enjoyed discussing evolving policies.
Pat took part in many Probus Club activities and was an avid bridge player, always looking for more people to play. She participated in and, at times, taught tai chi and was an enthusiastic member of a walking club that turned into a lunch club.
Her favourite place in the world was her house on Otter Lake, and she also treasured the time she spent on Lake Joseph, where she spent summers as a child.
Pat will be deeply missed by her family and friends, but we are all grateful for the time we had with her.
A celebration of life will be held at the
Active Living Centre 20 Park Drive, Huntsville, ON
on Sunday, September 28th from 1:00 to 3:00pm. All family and friends are welcome.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Huntsville Hospital Foundation or Crohn’s and Colitis Canada.
