John Paul Thomas Fink, 85, passed away peacefully at his home in Huntsville, Ontario, in the company of his wife and children on Thursday, April 16, 2026.
Paul is survived by his wife, Ruth (Nelles) Fink and his two children, Ashley (Daniel Carra) and Tom (Laura), and was predeceased by his daughter, Claire. Paul and Ruth have three grandchildren, Emma, Amelia, and Edward.
Born in Preston, Ontario, in 1940, to Thomas and Elma (Hawkings) Fink, Paul was one of four siblings, including his brothers George and Pieter, and sister Mary Beth.
Paul had an extensive career in the financial industry, including positions with Confederation Life Insurance Company and Fairfax Financial Holdings, where he served as Vice President, Investment Banking. His knowledge and experience in financial markets made him highly respected in his field.
Paul’s lifelong love of nature was displayed at his 600-acre property in Ryerson Township. Over the course of decades, he transformed his property into a private nature reserve, planting tens of thousands of trees and creating a 100-acre lake. He used his knowledge of conservation and forestry to serve on the Parry Sound Muskoka Stewardship Council.
Paul loved to share his lifelong faith in Christ with others and passed his faith on to his children. He was an active member and supporter of several churches over his lifetime, including Knox Presbyterian Church in Magnetawan and All Saints’ Anglican Church in Huntsville. He served on the investment committee of the Canadian Bible Society.

A funeral will be held at All Saints’ Anglican Church, 30 High St, Huntsville, on Thursday, April 23, at 11:00 am.

In lieu of flowers, donations to All Saints’ Anglican Church, Huntsville would be appreciated.
