Mary "Anne" Gauld Peacock
Peacefully, after a short post-operative struggle, Anne Peacock passed away in her 86th year in Huntsville on Monday, December 29, 2025.
Predeceased by her beloved husband John “Bud” and cherished by her daughters Debbie (Pat) and Kim (Ian). She leaves behind her adored grandchildren Sarah (Mitch), William, Kurtis (Sheyenne) and Mitchel (Stephanie), who brought her endless pride and joy, along with her loving siblings; late brother Ian (Ray), sister Wilma (Bill), and baby brothers Colin (Nan) and Bill (Bonnie). Sadly missed by her many nieces and nephews and her close circle of friends.
After spending over 60 years in the same home in Whitby, Anne embraced her move to Huntsville with enthusiasm, throwing herself into decorating her sparkling new residence—matched only by her sparkling personality. Independent, active, and endlessly social, Anne was rarely still. She was an avid card player who could almost always be found socializing, driving to an event, or sitting down for a game—often all in the same day.
Anne deeply loved family gatherings and never turned down a dinner invitation, frequently arriving early just to extend her visit. A true dreamer at heart, she embraced each day as an opportunity for adventure—whether it meant getting delightfully lost or playing “Nicky Nicky Nine Doors” at the cottage.
Anne will be remembered for her warmth, energy, curiosity, and the joy she brought into every room she entered. Her spirit lives on in the many lives she touched.
A celebration of life will take place in April, 2026 - date and location to be confirmed and posted here.
