Geoffery Frederick Farnsworth

With heavy hearts, the family announces the sudden passing of Geoffery Frederick Farnsworth on May 16th, 2026, at Huntsville District Memorial Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer.

Beloved spouse and partner of Laurie Harrison; proud father of daughter Laura (Chris) and stepchildren Jenna (Matt), Michelle (Joey) and Paul (Stacey); treasured ‘Grumpy’ of Liam, Sawyer, Miles, Macks, Morgan, JJ, Levi, Charlie and Emmett. Predeceased by his parents, Frederick and Mary Farnsworth.

Geoff will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by his friends and family.

Grumpy wasn’t just a name; he could be crusty and stubborn. He hated people making a fuss over him (and would have felt similar about others mourning his loss), but he loved his family deeply and went out of his way to make sure they were happy and taken care of. Born and raised in Huntsville, Geoff was a familiar face in the community and cherished the friends he made throughout his life. He was lucky to live a life surrounded by extended family, many of whom he considered some of his best friends. Geoff valued these relationships and was always willing to help out a family member, friend or neighbour.

Geoff had a passion for the outdoors, carpentry, and his grandchildren. He will be remembered for his kind heart, loyalty, and artistic talents.

Geoff and his family were grateful for the care he received at Royal Victoria Hospital, Huntsville District Memorial Hospital, and all his care providers.

Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be directed in Geoff’s memory to the Huntsville Hospital Foundation.

A Celebration of Geoff’s life will be held on Sunday, June 14, 2026, at the Royal Canadian Legion, 21 Veterans Way, Huntsville, from 1- 3 p.m.
